The first weekend will run from 5pm on Friday through until 6:30pm on Sunday

The second weekend runs from 5pm on Friday to 3.30pm on Sunday, so each participant will need to ensure that they are able to attend at these times before booking.

The cost is £429 per person and includes BC Certificate

Our experienced British Canoeing coaches will be on hand to help you to achieve your greatest potential, step out of your comfort zone and learn new skills while you meet new friends en route to completing your Gold award.

There's a large selection of paddlesports craft and equipment for you to use including playboats, sea kayaks, stand up paddleboards, touring canoes and slalom kayaks. Once you've built up your confidence paddling on our sheltered lake, there maybe a journey on the River Thames.

At the end of the two weekends, you could have gained both the new British Canoeing Paddle Start award and the new British Canoeing Paddle Discover Award. (There is an additional cost for the Discover certificate.)

If you come to the course with a range of good confident paddling skills already, you will have the opportunity to be assessed for the new British Canoeing Paddle Explore award.

NB We will need a minimum of 8 applicants, two weeks before the start date, for this course to run.

We usually notify applicants four weeks before the course if it is in danger of not running due to low numbers.

Duke of Edinburgh's Award recommend that only a small minority of those taking part should be known to the participant (ie participants should ideally only know one other person on the same course).
