THIS COURSE IS FULL, next available courses are October half term at Henley Fort, Guildford or High Ashurst, Dorking.

DofE Gold Residential Award at Thames Young Mariners OEC, Riverside Drive, Ham, Richmond, TW10 7RX.


The duration of the course is five days and meets the requirements of the residential section of the Gold Duke of Edinburgh's Award. All activity equipment, food and teepee accommodation included in the cost of £375 per person and includes BC Certificate.

You will need to bring your own sleeping bags, pillows etc, clothes (land and water activities) wash kit and towels.

Our experienced British Canoeing instructors will be on hand to help you to achieve your greatest potential, step out of your comfort zone and learn new skills while you meet new friends en route to completing your Gold award.

There's a large selection of paddlesports craft and equipment for you to use including playboats, sea kayaks, SUPs, touring canoes and slalom kayaks. Once you've built up your confidence paddling on our sheltered lake, there maybe a journey on the River Thames. At the end of the week, you could have gained both the new British Canoeing Paddle Start award and the new British Canoeing Paddle Discover Award.

NB We will need a minimum of 8 applicants, two weeks before the start date, for this course to run.

We usually notify applicants four weeks before the course if it is in danger of not running due to low numbers.

Duke of Edinburghs Award recommend that only a small minority of those taking part should be known to the participant,  (ie participants should only know one other person on the same course).

We do not accept Childcare Vouchers for this course.
