British Canoeing Paddlesport Instructor

Course information:

This is a 2 day course at Thames Young Mariners. This course is the entry point into the British Canoeing coaching scheme and includes the instruction of open canoeing, kayaking and stand up paddleboarding.

Prerequisites:

  • Participants need to have a Paddle UK (formally British Canoeing) membership and registration
  • Have spent approximately 80 hours paddling on the water prior to attending the Paddlesports Instructor Award course
  • Attend a Paddlesport Safety and Rescue course (PSRC) at least a month before the Paddlesport Instructor course to allow practice time to consolidate skills
  • Minimum age: 14 yrs
