🪵Woodland Activity Training Course 🌳

Woodland activities such as fire lighting, shelter building, crafts and wildlife exploration can be powerful tools for learning, confidence-building and connection with nature. To deliver these experiences safely and effectively, adults need practical skills, clear systems and confidence in managing risk.

The Woodland Activities Training course provides hands-on training for teachers and outdoor leaders wanting to introduce or develop woodland sessions within an educational setting. Participants learn how to safely teach fire lighting using appropriate methods, manage groups around fires, and assess environmental and safety risks. Alongside this, the course explores woodland activities including cooking over fires, shelter building, natural arts and crafts and wildlife identification.

he training focuses on realistic, accessible approaches that can be adapted to school grounds, local green spaces or small woodland areas. Participants leave with the skills and inspriation for further activity development and curriculum-linked ideas to confidently deliver engaging, safe and meaningful woodland experiences.
