We are excited to be working with Surrey Outdoor Learning & Development (SOLD) to offer this fantastic opportunity for students to build friendships, form strong bonds, and begin preparing for life at The Beacon School.

Working in collaboration with SOLD, the day at High Ashurst is designed to be both enjoyable and meaningful, with a focus on developing our core values of Endeavour, Kindness, Community, Ambition, and Integrity through fun, team-based activities.

We understand that the transition to secondary school can feel daunting at times, and we hope this experience helps to ease those concerns while building confidence ahead of September.

You are booking a day at:  High Ashurst Outdoor Education Centre, Headley Lane, Mickleham near Dorking, RH5 6DQ on 27 August 2026, 9.30am to 3.30pm. 

SOLD staff will be on site all day to look after the group. 

What to bring:
- Packed lunch - no nuts please, plus a water bottle to refill with water throughout the day
- Please bring an old pair of trainers (no flip-flops, no Crocs and no open toe/back shoes)
- Please wear weather appropriate clothing (warm jumper, t-shirt covering shoulders, long trousers, waterproof clothes, sun hat)
- Sun cream (if appropriate)  

Cost £45 per day
Childcare vouchers are accepted on bookings made at least 2 weeks in advance.
